My Client is an established player in the construction industry supplying materials and plant hire solutions for a variety of civil and commercial projects. Due to internal promotion, they are looking for a Sales Representative to round out their Melbourne sales team.

 

The role involves developing business relationships within the civil construction sector, particularly amongst tier 2 companies, while managing an existing client base. Your territory covers Metropolitan Melbourne, and you will be expected to use your cold-calling and rapport-building skills to generate business over the phone and face to face. Implementing strategy, forecasting and reporting on activity are part of this busy and varied role.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry (earthmoving, building, project management) – machinery and materials – developed through selling into or working in this sector (operators looking for a career in sales encouraged to apply). You will be confident and articulate, very organised and motivated, with the technical knowledge to understand your clients’ requirements. You must be able to work autonomously while contributing to a team effort.

 

The rewards are numerous for this sought-after role including a base salary of up to $65K, an uncapped commission scheme ($20-30K OTE), fully-maintained company car/fuel card plus standard tools of the trade (and super).
